Team Spirit Beanie
As many of you may or may not know, we reside in the Buffalo, NY area and you better “billieve” we are cheering loud and proud for our Buffalo Bills!!!
My fiancé asked me to knit him a hat in the team colors with the word Allen on it for Josh Allen of course. Fun fact Allen happens to also be his last name. Anyways, its not often he has such specific requests so I got to work and this is what I came up with.
I’m excited to share this pattern with you all because it’s so simple but can be customized numerous different ways. Simply use your favorite teams colors and knit away. You could even make one in your child’s school colors and wear it with pride at one of their sporting events.
I really hope you guys enjoy the pattern and have fun getting creative!
Supplies:
US #13 (9.0mm) 16 in. circular knitting needles
Bernat Softee Chunky Yarn or Super Bulky Yarn of choice
For my hat I used Berry Red, White and Royal BlueStitch Marker
Yarn Needle
Pattern Notes:
Pattern is for an adult sized hat. Hat is knit in the round starting at the brim and working up.
Once hat is completed duplicate stitch to add team, player name or phrase of choice. A blank chart is also provided if you would like to chart out the word and knit it as you go (just remember to read the chart from right to left).
My favorite teams colors are red, white and blue, just substitute your teams colors to make it your own.
