Easter Bunny Free Knit Pattern

Whether you love or hate this iconic Easter treat, the one thing we can all agree on is they are pretty darn cute!

Pink Bunny .jpg

The original Marshmallow Easter Bunny pattern was created in 2013 and continues to be a popular pattern this time of year. I felt like the original pattern was lacking something and needed more work.

After examining the pattern and some trial and error, I knit up a new bunny that I instantly fell in love with.

This pattern is such an easy, fun and quick knit. Make a whole pastel rainbow of bunnies to spruce up your Easter decor or add to your Spring markets or craft shows.

I hope you enjoy knitting these as much as I did!

Pattern Notes:

  • Pattern is suitable for an advanced beginner that understands basic increases and decreases.

  • Bunny is made with two pieces knit flat then seamed together.

  • Bunny is knit from the bottom up.

  • Gauge for this pattern is not important. Depending on the yarn you choose you will want to use knitting needles one or two sizes smaller than suggested.

  • Finished bunny measures 18” tall and 9.5” wide

Abbreviations:

  • K – knit

  • P – purl

  • sts – stitches

  • kf&b - knit into the front and back of the stitch

Repeat pattern again to make the other side of the bunny.

Use picture as a guide to duplicate stitch with brown yarn the eyes and nose. You could also substitute small felt circles or safety eyes if desired.

Using preferred method, seam the bunny together leaving the bottom open for stuffing. When stuffing be careful to not over stuff since bunny is supposed to resemble a marshmallow bunny you want it to look kind of flat as opposed to plump and round. Seam the bottom closed weave in ends and enjoy!
