Pint Size Ice Cream Cozy Knit Pattern
Summer is approaching and these super fast and easy pint size ice cream cozies are a necessity!
We have included two options for knitting your cozy. You can choose to knit it flat and seam it up or knit in the round so there is no seaming at the end.
OPTION 1 - KNIT FLAT
SUPPLIES:
US #7 (4.5mm) straight knitting needles
Worsted weight yarn of choice
Yarn needle
PATTERN NOTES:
Each cozy takes approximately 30 yards
My gauge for a 4x4 square was 18 stitches x 25 rows
Finished size when seamed 5 1/4 in. wide x 5 in. tall
These sleeves will fit most pint sized ice cream cups
ABBREVIATIONS:
K - Knit P - Purl K2tog - Knit two stitches together sts - Stitches rep - Repeat
PATTERN:
Cast on 44 sts.
Rows 1-5: (K2, P2) rep to end
Row 6: Knit
Row 7: Purl
Rows: 8-23: Repeat rows 6 & 7
Row 24: K2tog rep to end (22 sts.)
Row 25: Purl
Row 26: K2tog repeat to end (11 sts.)
Row 27: Purl
Row 28: K2tog repeat to last stitch, K1 (6 sts.)
Break yarn and thread through remaining 6 sts. pull tight, sew up side seam and weave in ends.
OPTION 2 - KNIT IN THE ROUND
SUPPLIES:
US #7 (4.5mm) double pointed knitting needles
Worsted weight yarn of choice
Stitch marker
Yarn needle
PATTERN NOTES:
Each cozy takes approximately 30 yards
My gauge for a 4x4 square was 18 stitches x 25 rows
Finished size 5 1/4 in. wide x 5 in. tall
These sleeves will fit most pint sized ice cream cups
ABBREVIATIONS:
K2tog - Knit two stitches together sts - Stitches rep - Repeat
PATTERN:
Cast on 44 sts. join in the round taking care not to twist stitches. Use stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round.
Rows 1-5: (K2, P2) rep to end
Rows 6-23: Knit
Row 24: K2tog rep to end (22 sts.)
Row 25: Knit
Row 26: K2tog repeat to end (11 sts.)
Row 27: Knit
Row 28: K2tog repeat to last stitch, K1 (6 sts.)
Break yarn and thread through remaining 6 sts. pull tight and weave in ends.
