Hello and welcome to our Clickety Sticks Blog!
Hi Everyone! Karrie and Kristen here. We are elated to finally announce the Clickety Sticks Blog!
You may already know if you have been following us on social media, we are sisters and we love to craft together. We have been crafting together for years and we have no plans on quitting. Through all seasons of our lives, the good and the bad, yarn has been the one thing that is consistent and always brings us together. When I was in college and lived about an hour and 20 minutes from home, I would often drive home on the weekend for no reason other than to sit on Kristen’s couch and crochet. Sometimes she wasn’t even home. But these nights would often end in us staying up way too late, laughing hysterically at things that don’t even make sense now, probably bothering the neighbors…
One night while knitting and crocheting we watched Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny. If you haven’t seen this movie you should, it’s pretty great. There is a scene where Jack Black finds himself alone in the woods and he eats some mushrooms found growing under a tree. He then embarks on a magical trip through the forest where he meets a Sasquatch, subsequently becomes the Sasquatch’s child or “lil baby sas” and embarks on a tube ride down the strawberry river. At the end of the ride, the tube is stuck to his butt. The father Sasquatch says “shake your tushy, it’ll fall off!”
Now… I know. It’s not that funny. And I feel the need to make sure you all know Kristen and I were not under the influence of any kind of drugs or alcohol at the time. But we paused, rewound, and replayed that 2 second “shake your tushy, it’ll fall off!” clip for honestly probably an hour. Why? Our younger sister Kali was asleep on the floor in front of the TV and we wanted so desperately for her to wake up to “shake your tushy, it’ll fall off!”
And thus, our love for Sasquatch was born.
We want to say thank you for visiting our blog, reading this post and giving us a shot. We promise, we have so much more to share with you including free patterns, tips, inspiration and so much more.
